D&M Santa Maria Insulation Company, insulationsantamaria.com, projects@insulationsantamaria.com

Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover your use of this website and any work you hire D&M Santa Maria Insulation Company to do at your home or building. By using the site, asking for an estimate or booking a job with us, you agree to them, so please read them before you do.

If you don't agree with something here, don't use the site and call us at (805) 268-7108 before you book, because we'd rather sort it out up front than after the crew shows up.

What we do

We're an insulation contractor in Santa Maria, CA. We work in attics, walls, crawl spaces and commercial buildings, with services that include blown-in insulation, which is loose fill blown through a hose, spray foam, air sealing, insulation removal and vapor barriers. You can read more about our crew on the about page and see every service from the home page.

What's on this website is general information about the trade and how we usually work. It isn't a quote or a promise about your house, because every attic and crawl space is different and we only know what yours needs once we've seen it.

Estimates and pricing

Our on-site estimates are free and come with no obligation. Your price depends on things like the size of the space, how many inches of old insulation are already up there, whether that old material has to come out first, how easy the space is to get into and which material you choose.

An estimate covers the work it describes, based on what we could see that day. If we open up a space and find something we couldn't see before, like insulation soaked by a leak or full of droppings, we'll stop and tell you what we found and what it changes before we do any extra work or charge for it.

Unless a written estimate says otherwise, it stays open for 30 days, since material costs can change after that.

Scheduling and cancellation

We'll set a date with you once you approve the estimate. Weather, material deliveries and what we find on the job can move that date, and when they do we'll let you know as soon as we can and set a new one with you.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least one business day's notice so we can move the crew. If we've already ordered special material for your job, you may owe what we can't return. Any right to cancel that California law gives you still applies, and nothing in these terms takes it away.

You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area on the scheduled day, including the attic hatch, crawl space opening and a place to park. If the job uses spray foam, you agree to keep everyone, including kids and pets, out of the house for the re-entry time we give you, which is the number of hours before it's safe to go back inside.

Paying for the work

Payment is due when the job is finished unless your written estimate or contract sets a deposit or a different schedule. We'll walk you through the finished work before you pay so you can see what was done.

If a payment is late, we may hold off on any remaining work until it's settled. If we have to go to collections or court to get paid, you agree to cover reasonable costs of collecting, as far as California law allows.

Our guarantee and what it doesn't cover

We stand behind our work, and if something we did isn't right, call us and we'll come back and make it right. Any written warranty on your job will be in your estimate or contract, and the insulation and foam makers' own warranties pass to you as the makers write them.

Beyond what's in writing, we don't promise a set drop in your power bill or a set temperature in any room, because those depend on things we don't control, like your heating and cooling system, your windows and how the house is used. This website and its information are provided as-is, without any other warranty, as far as the law allows.

Our guarantee doesn't cover damage from leaks, pests, storms, other contractors' work or changes made after we finish.

Limits on our liability

We're licensed and fully insured, and we're responsible for the work we do. As far as California law allows, our total liability for any claim about a job won't be more than what you paid us for that job.

We aren't liable for indirect losses, like lost use of a room or a higher utility bill, or for problems that were already there before we started, such as hidden water damage or old wiring we didn't touch. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

If we disagree

If you're unhappy with anything, tell us first by phone or through the contact page, and we'll work with you in good faith to fix it. Most problems get settled that way, and it's faster and cheaper for both of us.

If we can't settle it together within 30 days, either of us can take it to the state or federal courts serving Santa Barbara County, California, or to small claims court where the amount qualifies.

California law applies

These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its rules on choosing another state's law.

If a court finds any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one that applies. Changes don't affect a job you've already signed for unless we both agree in writing.

If you have a question about any of this, call us at (805) 268-7108 or reach us through the contact page, and we'll explain it in plain words.
