About our Santa Maria insulation contractor

A gloved hand sprays foam insulation from a hose-mounted nozzle across a wooden floor beside expanding white foam.

How I got into insulation work

I taught myself the basics of insulation from reading and small jobs, then learned the rest crawling through attics and crawl spaces around Santa Maria. I started this business in 2013, and I still come out myself to look at the job and write the estimate, because what's actually up there decides what you need.

Most of our calls come from people with a hot room upstairs, cold floors or an older house that never feels comfortable, plus some property managers. Santa Maria gets regular high winds, and wind finds every gap, so on our insulation work around Santa Maria we seal the leaks before anything else goes in. I care most about the work in the places nobody looks at once we leave. A house that's comfortable and safe to live in matters more to me than selling you the biggest job.

What you can expect from us

  • You see what's up there before you get a price

I come out to look at your attic or crawl space and walk you through what's there, how many inches you already have and what shape it's in, before anyone quotes you. If something needs another trade or a test first, I'll tell you plainly, and we wait until it's handled instead of covering it up.

  • Leaks sealed before insulation goes in

We do the air sealing first, closing the gaps around can lights, pipes and the attic hatch, so your new insulation isn't fighting a draft. We also keep the eave vents clear so the attic can still breathe and moisture doesn't end up in the framing.

  • The right fix, even when it's the smaller job

Foam costs more and seals air while it insulates, but sealing the gaps and topping up with blown-in insulation, loose fill blown through a hose, usually wins unless your ductwork runs through the attic. I'll tell you which one fits your space, even when the smaller job is the better choice.

Licensing, insurance and permits

Serving Santa Maria Since 2013

  • California contractor license

The California Contractors State License Board requires a license when a job needs a building permit, uses employee labor, or the contracts come to $1,000 or more in labor and materials, and a contractor has to hold it before bidding. It's worth checking anyone you hire, us included, with the state's license lookup, which also shows complaint history.

  • Licensed and fully insured

Licensed and fully insured. Before work starts we check with the building office that covers your address, city or county, and if they say a permit is needed, we take care of the application and set up the inspections.
